We are soooo close to bearable weather! Sure it's baby steps, but it's above freezing this entire week! Get ready for when you really want to go play in the sunshine...start building your community now. We've got three events this weekend, each vastly different: social mixer, brass band dance party, movie night. What's your flavor of fun?

We always lose some members in the colder months, so now that it's warming up, we need you to sign up! Your memberships help sustain this community and our gorgeous home space, the Gemini & Scorpio Loft. We need you, and spring is the perfect time to come out and play.

Also -- each if you monthly members at Friend level and higher gets 2-6 Lip Service guest passes each year. These allow your PALs to pay your level ticket price if coming with you, OR to pay just $15 each if coming without you & bringing their own PALs. They're a great way to introduce new folks to our community, and they can be picked up at the door of any HoS event...like the mixer this Friday.

- This Fri 3.6 - Taste The Rainbow: community social ($0-10, open to all) - The all-are-welcome monthly gathering to introduce you all to each other. We have table and icebreaker games to make the intros easier. As always, even $5 members can attend the event FREE.

- This Sat 3.7 - Gemini & Scorpio present: Brooklyn Mardi Gras ($0-25, open to all) - Gemini & Scorpio are the original makers of immersive themed costume events in NYC, going back to 2002 -- and HoS' parent company. G&S does fewer events these days, but the ones that happen are pure magic. Mardi Gras is always one of the best among those. HoS Friend+ members get their usual discounts on GA tix in the membership system, but if you want to reserve King Cake or gumbo flown in directly from NoLA, you need to book on the official ticket link (no HoS discounts).

- [new date!] This Sun 3.8 - Sinema Club: exploring gender & sexuality on screen ($0-10, open to all) - Dinner and a movie is a classic date or friend night, and we're here to facilitate yours. We have two absurd options for you: Isabella Rossellini's charmingly DIY mini doc series Green Porno + the softcore sex comedy Sexual Chronicles of a French Family. You guys decide how much or how little of each you want to see!

- Next Fri 3.13 - Lip Service: pansexual makeout party ($0-25, members only) - A party where making out in dark corners is not just tolerated, but encouraged. Even if you're only playing within your closed circle, doing that without feeling like you're breaking the social contract feels pretty great. For you more adventurous folk, this is where the games get physical, too (Sexy Jenga! Spin the Bottle!). It's our signature event, and it's a ton of fun without a lot of pressure.

- Fri 3.27 - Dark DecaDance goth dance party ($0-20, open to all) - queer meets kink meets goth. Last month was Yugo-fire, and we are excited to see how this month goes! So many fun new faces.

- Sat 3.28 - Countdown pansexual play party ($0-50, approved members only) - our private clubhouse invites you for private playtime. Want to indulge in some exhibitionism? Got a date you can't host at home? Want to take Lip Service vibes to the next level? Come on out and play!

People always ask if can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the place to start if you've never been -- and the party is always FREE if you're already a member.

For those of you new to it all: a place to be comfortable in your gender or orientation identity, direct introductions to HoS members new and old; open discussions on varied lifestyles; icebreaker games to welcome you to our club.

For our regulars: a way to ease new friends into our scene; a chance to meet all the new faces you may want to kiss later; a visit with the community even if your PAL is not around.

For everyone: PG-13 tabletop and social games, a charming host to make the introductions and explain all things HoS and sex-positive, and a cozy setting for conversations and future kisses. Be on time! Our icebreaker game, HoS Guest Bingo, runs from 7:30pm until we have a winner: get to know everyone in the room, and win a drink if you're the first to complete your bingo card.

Current host: Miss Scorpio is back hosting the mixer. Come ask her directly anything you want to know about HoS. We've been building this community for you for 10+ years, and hope to be here for 10+ more.

The raucous, joyful sold-out hit event is back for 2026! Dance your beads off to killer brass bands and enjoy authentic NoLA cocktails all night in the ultimate Brooklyn party loft. - 12am - The L Train Brass Band - a non-profit community of 100+ musicians cranking out a wild mix of NoLA jazz, Latin, Balkan, hip hop, funk, R&B and pop

- 11pm - HONK Family Band - NYC's homegrown brass street band extraordinaire, as seen at Mayor Mamdani's inauguration.

- 10pm - The Funking Brass Souls - a krewe of four horns and one drummer putting the grease in the groove, playing a festive repertoire of vintage soul, Nola R&B, swing, and funk

*Plus: authentic food and drink flown in directly from NoLA! If you reserve your ticket by 12pm on Mon 3.2, you get a slice of King Cake included FREE - any extra cake will be sold at $5/slice, accompanied by (decaf) Cafe du Monde coffee. This month's features: Isabella Rossellini's Green Porno + Sexual Chronicles of a French Family

Green Porno (2008) is a series of short films on animal sexual behaviour conceived, written, and directed by its star, Isabella Rossellini. The three seasons of the series cover insects, marine & ocean life. The series is delightfully DIY, with homemade costumes, cardboard cut-outs and foam-rubber sculptures.

Sexual Chronicles of a French Family (2012, 85min), a sex comedy featuring explicit scenes with adult film stars. The premise is as shallow as any adult film: after youngest son Romain is caught filming himself masturbating in class, his mother Claire rounds up the family to talk about their sexual experiences. Heavily edited when released internationally, tonight’s viewing will be the original French cut rarely seen on the big screen.

Sinema Club is curated and hosted by Phil Guie-Ng (@thatphilguymovies): an inquisitive, ardent longtime film critic who is dying to tell you about movies you haven't heard of yet. As a reviewer at the website Film-Forward, his self-appointed mission was covering documentaries and features about subjects who challenged conventional attitudes about gender, masculinity, and more. When Phil isn't writing about movies, you can find him in Brooklyn taking part in protests on behalf of basic human rights.

Special Yugowave edition - for the first time in NYC! Yugowave is a San Francisco/Oakland dark, vinyl-only club night dedicated to Eastern European darkwave, coldwave, and post-punk. The night features DJ Kaos Kaos (Oakland via Zagreb), vocalist of dark punk band TOTALNA TAMA and the visual force behind Yugowave, alongside DJ Zlaya (Los Angeles via Belgrade and the Bay Area), founder of BodyRapture and co-founder of Cold Trinity Belgrade and Yugowave. Together they deliver a raw, analog journey through shadowy underground sounds from the former Yugoslavia and beyond—built for the body, the dance floor, and the dark.

Plus: resident DJ Shiver has been bringing the best of darkwave, goth, industrial, and post-punk sounds since 2015. Having spun at Femme Fest LA, Defcon NYC, and co-founding clubs Dolce Vita and Physical Ruins, she continues to blend both beloved classics and the best of new dark music. She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

Light kink play welcome, but please note there is no dedicated dungeon setup or dedicated monitors. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.
