Another simply mind-blowing skrip clerb pop-up on the books...damn, guys! It'll be a while before the next one -- mark your calendars for Sep 19 now, and don't sleep on that one.

Now on to this week, with FOUR events! Yes, even though it's Memorial Day Weekend! Come on out and learn, play, chill and socialize in the most wholesome sx-positive community in town. Scroll past this section for full info.

- Tomorrow! Wed 5.21 - Aftercare: a deeper social with Lady Euphoria ($0-10, open to non-members) - A brand new social we've created after talking to so many of you. While our Rainbow mixer has a looser structure, this is the event where we can offer the most support, one on one attention, interaction, dialogue, and other ways to create deeper connection than just chat -- though of course we will leave time for that, too. If you fear you might feel lost at other events, or wouldn't know where to start, or have lots of questions about HoS or the overlapping communities that find a home here, this is the place to go. And because our host is a pro Domme, we particularly welcome kink-curious and kink-loving folks, as you're sure to find like-minded others here among her followers. (It's also a great time to ask any questions about the classes she leads here, too!)

- This Fri 5.23 - Dark DecaDance: goth dance & kink social party ($0-20, open to non-members) - A kink-friendly goth dance party, this one with with a special live band performance.

- This Sat 5.24 - Countdown: pansexual play party ($0-50, members only) - Come play fully in our luscious space, with your partner or consenting others. Please don't wait till last minute to get your approvals! We will likely not be able to get to them past 3pm on Friday.

- This Sun 5.25 - Sinema Club: exploring gender & sexuality on screen ($0-10, open to non-members) - This month's pick: The Dreamers (2003), Bernardo Bertolucci’s moody, erotic, and dizzying tale set in tumultuous 60s Paris between a set of cinephile twins and a naïve American abroad. We <3 this film, and it's nearly impossible to find, in any format.

- Next Wed 5.28 - Bedroom Badass with Lady Euphoria ($0-30, open to non-members) - Sensation Play, a deeper dive. It's a huge topic, and we wanted to offer you a lot more than the basics. Prior experience or previous class not required, and yes, you'll get to actually try things.

HoS has always been about building community first and playtime second, and this new night in particular will welcome both novices and veterans into a safe space for dialogue and exploration, winding down and opening up, and most of all -- connecting to their deeper selves and to each other.

We begin with gentle icebreakers to spark laughter and warmth, then move into a sharing circle where prompts invite stories, questions, or reflections around intimacy, power, play, and everything in between. This is a great time to ask follow up questions about previous workshops or request future ones. As a fun bonus, you might get a mini demo or taster from an upcoming workshop, too. End the evening with freeform socializing and deeper conversations, or practice your new Bedroom Badass skills under the teacher's supervision.

DDD is a queer-forward kink-friendly goth dance celebration, inviting all participants to let go, dance and play in our luscious private loft. We embrace all genders and sexualities and levels of darkness.
 
On decks: resident DJ Shiver has been bringing the best of darkwave, goth, industrial, and post-punk sounds since 2015. Having spun at Femme Fest LA, Defcon NYC, and co-founding clubs Dolce Vita and Physical Ruins, she continues to blend both beloved classics and the best of new dark music. She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

Guest DJ: DJ Negrarose is known for her genre-mashing New Wave, Alternative Rock, Goth, Industrial and Post-Punk sets. She has been a resident DJ at Berlin NYC, co-hosted PORTAL, and hosted Attic, her own night at the former Hell Gate Social.

Special live band appearance: Academy Order is a Philadelphia-based band that masterfully blends goth, death rock, post rock, new wave and hints of hardcore to create a fierce sound that is simultaneously a revival and a revolution. "Academy Order creates synth-driven soundscapes whose emotional ambiance is undeniable and powerfully affecting." - Cvlt Nation.

Light kink play welcome, but please note there is no dedicated dungeon setup or dedicated monitors. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.

Dress code: goth, fetish, romantic, vampire, dark Lolita, neo-Victorian, steampunk, ninja warrior. Effort required / no casual wear.

Respiratory safety: masks always welcome; two hospital grade UV air purifiers cycle the air.

The body's largest sex organ is the brain. Sinema Club stimulates yours with films that are explicitly erotic, homo-romantic, or gender-exploring -- and always thought-provoking. A rousing discussion follows; drinking is encouraged throughout, and mingling happens before, during and after: the bar lounge remains open for socializing, while the film plays in the main space. Plus: free popcorn from our vintage cart. Order in from the many restaurants around, and make it dinner and a movie.

This month's film: THE DREAMERS (2003) - Bernardo Bertolucci’s dizzying, provocative drama set in Paris during the tumultuous late 1960s. A naïve American abroad (Michael Pitt of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH) finds himself enthralled by a pair of cinephile twins (Eva Green, Louis Garrel) who invite him to stay over at their labyrinthine apartment. As the relationship between the three deepens, they create a world among themselves replete with erotic games and a detachment from reality itself. But how long can they keep the tumultuous events happening outside from breaking in?

Sinema Club is curated and hosted by Phil Guie-Ng (@thatphilguymovies): an inquisitive, ardent longtime film critic who is dying to tell you about movies you haven't heard of yet. As a reviewer at the website Film-Forward, his self-appointed mission was covering documentaries and features about subjects who challenged conventional attitudes about gender, masculinity, and more. When Phil isn't writing about movies, you can find him in Brooklyn taking part in protests on behalf of basic human rights.
