Two weeks left to go in May, and they are *busy*! Two events we're excited about this week: the very hands-on sensory play class with Lady Euphoria tomorrow, and our whale of a good time Saints & Sinners pop-up, which we can barely talk about in email (but trust us, you don't want to miss it). And then next week has FOUR events! And then...PRIDE MONTH!

- Tomorrow! Wed 5.14 - Bedroom Badass with Lady Euphoria ($0-30, open to non-members) - A crowd favorite: Intro to Sensation Play. Learn how to engage all senses in your play for a more thrilling full-body experience, with tools or without. No prior knowledge required for this crash course, and we will always tailor the class to the levels of everyone present (ie, if you do have knowledge of the topic, come on out to take your skills to the next level). Yes, you get to actually try things! It's one of those fundamental skill classes that will continue to pay off for you well into the future, and we highly recommend it. No partner necessary, either.

- This Fri 5.16 - Saints & Sinners ($0-50, members only) - The one and only pop-up skrip clerb fit for the HoS fam. We got six top-notch dancers lined up for your stage and champagne room pleasure (see below). It's one of the absolute best events we put on all year, even if we can't say much more about it here. One big request: PLEASE BRING CASH! We can trade for smaller bills, but we can't be your ATM.

- Next Wed 5.21 - Aftercare: a deeper social with Lady Euphoria ($0-10, open to non-members) - A brand new type of social we've created after talking to so many of you. While our Rainbow mixer has a looser structure, this is the event where we can offer the most support, one on one attention, interaction, dialogue, and other ways to create deeper connection than just chat -- though of course we will leave time for that, too. If you fear you might feel lost at other events, or wouldn't know where to start, or have lots of questions about HoS or the overlapping communities that find a home here, this is the place to go.

- Next Fri 5.23 - Dark DecaDance: goth dance & kink social party ($0-20, open to non-members) - A kink-friendly goth dance party, this one with with a special live band performance. Earlybird -$5 tickets until this Friday!

- Next Sat 5.24 - Countdown: pansexual play party ($0-50, members only) - Come play fully in our luscious space, with your partner or consenting others. Please don't wait till last minute to get your approvals! It's a busy week for us next week :)

- Next Sun 5.25 - Sinema Club: exploring gender & sexuality on screen ($0-10, open to non-members) - This month's pick: The Dreamers (2003), Bernardo Bertolucci’s moody, erotic, and dizzying tale set in tumultuous 60s Paris between a set of cinephile twins and a naïve American abroad. We <3 this film, and it's nearly impossible to find, in any format.

- Wed 5.28 - Bedroom Badass with Lady Euphoria ($0-30, open to non-members) - Sensation Play, a deeper dive. It's a huge topic, and we wanted to offer you a lot more than the basics. You don't need to come to tomorrow's class before going to this one, but of course it helps.

The most thrilling experiences in life engage multiple senses. Tap into this deep well by developing your sensory play skills! In this crash course, we'll talk about the senses, how to play with them individually and use them together to build an exhilarating play scene. We'll talk about common sensory activities -- like using different textures, bondage, impact play and sensation deprivation. We'll also talk about how to layer certain sensations to create specific sensory experiences. While this is an introduction workshop, we will touch on how varied sensation play can be and how you can truly customize it to your bodies and preferences. Feel free to bring toys your curious about and be ready to ask questions on how to incorporate a new sense into your play!

- Common activities for each sense
- Body mapping
- Prepping the mind & body for varied sensations
- Perception vs. Experiencing
- Layering sensations

All BB classes are a mixture of lecture, hands-on experience, and dedicated Q&A time. After class, stay for dedicated practice & play time to help you solidify your skills, while our teacher remains available for guidance. Class and practice are in the main space, while the bar lounge is open 7pm-12am if you want to arrive early or leave late -- or just need a break. Always BYO practice items, where relevant, though we will always have a selection on hand.

Our teacher: Lady Euphoria Sol is a Transformational Lifestyle & Professional Dominatrix, BDSM Educator, Coach and Ritualist. Her work centers inner exploration, shadow work and energetics in pursuit of Euphoria. She is most recently known for her role as former founding headmistress and curator of 7 Days of Domination, a quarterly week-long series of educational kink talks from worldwide BDSM experts.

Bedroom Badass is our series of workshops to take couples and individuals through various steps in opening up their relationships, or in exploring more adventurous sexual experiences. Whether you're a total novice or an old pro, each class has a range of information relevant to all experience levels.

*Bedroom Badass happens on the second (beginner) and fourth (advanced) Wednesday of each month

Whatever your membership level, you are invited to use our space as your clubhouse for the night. While the ticketed activities take place in the main space, the bar area remains open 7pm-11pm (12am if enough people are lounging). Just like with regular events, if you're Friend level and above, you can bring up to two friends with you. Order in dinner, have a few drinks, run a friendly board game, or just read a book on your own. This is not a mixer -- just us opening our doors for our members. It's up to you how much you socialize, if at all, and with whom.

Rules of the club: bring cash & tip generously (dancers, wait & bar staff). Please only sit at the rail (stage-side seating) when actively tipping / rotate out when your wallet needs a break. Get lap dances: they're the best part...then try the champagne room, because that's the only way it can get better. Respect the dancers. Keep your hands to yourself (or your partner). Please treat our pole gently; no wild swinging.

HoS has always been about building community first and playtime second, and this new night in particular will welcome both novices and veterans into a safe space for dialogue and exploration, winding down and opening up, and most of all -- connecting to their deeper selves and to each other.

We begin with gentle icebreakers to spark laughter and warmth, then move into a sharing circle where prompts invite stories, questions, or reflections around intimacy, power, play, and everything in between. This is a great time to ask follow up questions about previous workshops or request future ones. As a fun bonus, you might get a mini demo or taster from an upcoming workshop, too. End the evening with freeform socializing and deeper conversations, or practice your new Bedroom Badass skills under the teacher's supervision.

DDD is a queer-forward kink-friendly goth dance celebration, inviting all participants to let go, dance and play in our luscious private loft. We embrace all genders and sexualities and levels of darkness.
 
On decks: resident DJ Shiver has been bringing the best of darkwave, goth, industrial, and post-punk sounds since 2015. Having spun at Femme Fest LA, Defcon NYC, and co-founding clubs Dolce Vita and Physical Ruins, she continues to blend both beloved classics and the best of new dark music. She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

Guest DJ: DJ Negrarose is known for her genre-mashing New Wave, Alternative Rock, Goth, Industrial and Post-Punk sets. She has been a resident DJ at Berlin NYC, co-hosted PORTAL, and hosted Attic, her own night at the former Hell Gate Social.

Special live band appearance: Academy Order is a Philadelphia-based band that masterfully blends goth, death rock, post rock, new wave and hints of hardcore to create a fierce sound that is simultaneously a revival and a revolution. "Academy Order creates synth-driven soundscapes whose emotional ambiance is undeniable and powerfully affecting." - Cvlt Nation.

Light kink play welcome, but please note there is no dedicated dungeon setup or dedicated monitors. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.

Dress code: goth, fetish, romantic, vampire, dark Lolita, neo-Victorian, steampunk, ninja warrior. Effort required / no casual wear.
