Thank you all for another cozy, sassy, fun Lip Service last week -- it was lovely to see so many new faces, and to hand out all those Countdown approvals. If you want to come play with us on Saturday and don't yet have approval for tickets, please don't wait! Give yourselves at least a few days time. Don't know if you have approval? We are soooo excited to bring back our play party from back in the day...all the cozy vibes of Lip Service, a colorful rainbow of guests, and a decidedly X rating.

Meanwhile, our Sinema Club tonight has *three* special guests connected to the movies we're screening! As always, blankets, PJs and ordering in dinner are all welcome options for the evening.

- Tomorrow! Wed 3.19 - Sinema Club: exploring gender & sexuality on screen ($0-10, members only) - this month: Birder (2024) erotic thriller set in a queer nudist campground and She's Clean (2022), a short with a simple premise: a protagonist who showers with all her dates to explore the balance of intimacy and desire. Zoom calls with director & intimacy coordinator follow!

- This Fri 3.21 - Fierce! Qu33r social and dance party ($0-10, open to non-members) - more ways to get to know this community! We will break out the usual mixer tabletop games to encourage socializing, and turn up the beats on the dance floor. FREE for all members, or just $10 if you're not sure about joining yet.

- This Sat 3.22 - Countdown: pansexual play party ($0-50, members only) - Come play, with your partner or consenting others. Approval required for this one!

- Next Fri 3.28 - Dark DecaDance ($0-20, open to non-members) - a goth dance party in a queer-forward space, with light kink play welcome. We have another special live musical guest this month! The rest is killer DJs and whatever kinky vibes you want to bring to our space.

- Wed 4.9 - Bedroom Badass ($0-30) - Now that we've covered communication and negotiation, next up is the topic that can even baffle many pros: how do you actually create a "scene" with your partner that explores all those exciting ideas you may have talked about and negotiated for? It's one thing to know what physical activities you want to engage in, but how do you make that fantasy a navigable reality that can bring the most pleasure to all parties, and flow smoothly from point to point? Full details TK next week, but tix are already on sale.

- Fri 4.14 - Lip Service: pansexual makeout party ($0-25, members only) - the cozy, cute & wholesome kissing party. Wear your sexy best and lock lips with just your play partner(s) or other guests at the one event where making out all night is not just acceptable, but encouraged! Reminder: LS is the ONLY event where you can get vetted in person for Countdown and any other play events; otherwise you have to follow the steps outlined on the HoS site.

- Fri 4.18 - Date change! FemFlirt + MeetMarket ($0-20, members only) - We had a schedule conflict w Vonka on the previously announced date, so we're pushing the flirting parties to next month's 3rd Friday. Any existing tickets are automatically good for the new date, or please get in touch if you'd prefer a refund. Internet dating sux. Let's flirt in person.

A 15-min short with a simple premise: a protagonist who showers with all her dates to explore the balance of intimacy and desire.

Main feature: BIRDER (2023)
An erotic thriller set in a queer nudist campground in New Hampshire, where a mysterious stranger -- Kristian (Michael Emery) -- ensnares locals with his dark fetish. While it doesn’t take long for viewers to infer an unsavory truth about Kristian, director Nate Dushku takes his time exploring the tension among other protagonists, who, as outsiders themselves, place too much trust into someone they perceive to be a fellow traveler. Come for the lush cinematography and generous nudity; stay for the deadly consent.

Sinema Club is curated and hosted by Phil Guie-Ng (@thatphilguymovies): an inquisitive, ardent longtime film critic who is dying to tell you about movies you haven't heard of yet. As a reviewer at the website Film-Forward, his self-appointed mission was covering documentaries and features about subjects who challenged conventional attitudes about gender, masculinity, and more. When Phil isn't writing about movies, you can find him in Brooklyn taking part in protests on behalf of basic human rights.

***Plus: House of Scorpio Clubhouse. Whatever your membership level, you are invited to use our space as your own for the night...as your clubhouse. While the ticketed activities will take place on the stage side of the room, the bar and lounge will remain open 7pm-11pm (12am if enough people are lounging). Order in dinner, have a few drinks, run a friendly board game, or just read a book on the comfy couch. This is not a mixer -- just us opening our doors for our members. Part mixer party, part makeout party, part play party. The countdown begins when doors open at 10pm: it's a mix-and-mingle party for the first hour. At 11, all regular makeout party rules apply: all the clothes stay on, and all playtime is PG13-rated. But at 12am, the door is locked, and the party can take its natural course. Please arrive by 11:45pm, though you can leave anytime.

She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

Special live music guest: Arch Angel. Arch Angel has been a NYC goth scene DJ, artist and promoter for over a decade, and is also the the founder of City of Dark Angels events. Having worked with artists including PRAYERS, BootBlacks, Kontravoid, Mechanical Vein, Matt Hart and more, he is now coming out with his own exclusive dark dance tracks and mixes, combining Dark Pop, Darkwave, Goth and Industrial into a body-moving Dark Freestyle electro genre.

Light kink play welcome, but please note there is no dedicated dungeon setup or dedicated monitors. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.

We get asked all the time how people can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the key HoS event open to non-members. Come meet us before you join!
