Hello lovelies,

We know we have some new people on the list, so we wanted to do a quick breakdown on how we do things & how best to jump into HoS events.

First thing we recommend: social events and classes! You probably don't know too many similar folks, aren't sure if this is for you, or what HoS even is, if not swinger parties (we're not swinger parties). How to begin? 1) The classes will give you foundational knowledge and terminology that enable you to connect to like-minded others. Tomorrow's class especially represents basic knowledge that *everyone* should have when venturing into a more playful & sx-pos lifestyle. We hope to build a stronger education program this year, and this class is one we wish we could make a base requirement. 2) We keep social events open to non-members to welcome new people into our community. Usually, there's just our monthly mixer, which was last week, but we're adding another social & dance party on Fri, March 21 (and moving our flirting parties into April). Like the mixer, this will be FREE for all members.

Second steps: light play! Feeling more comfortable than an absolute beginner? Everyone's favorite all-gender all-orientation rated-R party is Lip Service. There's one coming up this Friday, and it's a great way to start immersing yourself in a more sx-pos space, even if you just lock lips with your own partner and let the playful background ambience wash over you.

Lastly: yes, we do also host play events (Countdown). Please do not jump into those without at least attending Lip Service. We can even approve you for attendance in person at Lip Service, once we see that you've got a PAL, and can handle our dress code and code of conduct.

HoS is first and foremost a community, and we hope to be here for whatever shade of support, play, acceptance, environment, fun, etc you might need.

- Tomorrow! Wed 3.12 - Bedroom Badass ($0-30) - (Rescheduled from last month due to illness). Practical Negotiation for Play turns basic communication skills from our last class into the building blocks it takes to successfully negotiate relationship or scene parameters with your dating or play partners. Let's turn theory into practice together! This is an *absolutely foundational class* for anyone looking to expand their interests and relationships into a more open realm. Don't worry if you missed the first class; we're going to start with a quick basics breakdown before moving into new territory.

- This Fri 3.14 - Lip Service: pansexual makeout party ($0-25, members only) - the cozy, cute & wholesome kissing party. Wear your sexy best and lock lips with just your play partner(s) or other guests at the one event where making out all night is not just acceptable, but encouraged! Reminder: LS is the ONLY event where you can get vetted in person for Countdown and any other play events; otherwise you have to follow the steps outlined on the HoS site.

- Next Wed 3.19 - Sinema Club: exploring gender & sexuality on screen ($0-10, members only) - this month: Birder (2024) erotic thriller set in a queer nudist campground and She's Clean (2022), a short with a simple premise: a protagonist who showers with all her dates to explore the balance of intimacy and desire. Zoom calls with director & intimacy coordinator follow!

- Fri 3.21 - Just added! Fierce! Qu33r social and dance party ($0-10, open to non-members) - more ways to get to know this community! We will break out the usual mixer tabletop games to encourage socializing, and turn up the beats on the dance floor. FREE for all members, or just $10 if you're not sure about joining yet.

- Sat 3.22 - Countdown: pansexual play party ($0-50, members only) - Come play, with your partner or consenting others. Approval required for this one! Get it in advance via email, or instantly at Lip Service.

- Fri 3.28 - Dark DecaDance ($0-20, open to non-members) - Let's get goth, people! DDD has been a monthly highlight for us, growing its own community over this past year, and we love welcoming new people into the fold.

- Fri 4.18 - Date change! FemFlirt + MeetMarket ($0-20, members only) - We had a schedule conflict w Vonka on the previously announced date, so we're pushing the flirting parties to next month's 3rd Friday. Any existing tickets are automatically good for the new date, or please get in touch if you'd prefer a refund. Internet dating sux. Let's flirt in person.

We get asked all the time how people can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the key HoS event open to non-members. Come meet us before you join!

For those of you new to it all: direct introductions to HoS members new and old; facilitated discussions on poly, kink and swinger lifestyles; icebreaker games to welcome you to our club.

For our regulars: a way to ease new friends into our scene; a chance to meet all the new faces you may want to kiss later; a visit with the community even if your PAL is not around.

For everyone: tabletop and social games, both risqué and plain fun; a charming host to make the introductions and explain all things HoS and sex-positive, and a cozy setting for conversations and future kisses. Our main icebreaker game, HoS Guest Bingo, runs from 7:30pm until we have a winner: get to know everyone in the room, and win a drink if you complete your bingo card.

You may know the theories of consent and communication (especially if you attended the last class!), but how do you convert them into a practice that allows you to have all the fun you and your partners may want to have together? In this crash course, we'll talk about the key components to a negotiation practice, and start building a hands-on structure for all your future play.

Missed the communication workshop? Don't worry! We'll retouch on negotiation parameters and the basics from the last class. This workshop is great for anyone ready to get hands-on practice with negotiating and enhance both their connection and communication skills.

Some topics to be covered:
- What makes a negotiation practice
- Clarity & why it's important for your foundation
- Curiosity and co-visioning as an approach to negotiation
- Practical tools for negotiating with different communication styles
- Negotiation differences for before, during and after play
- Considerations for partnered vs. group negotiations, pick-up play, long term partner, etc

All BB classes are a mixture of lecture, hands-on experience, and dedicated Q&A time. After class, stay for dedicated practice & play time to help you solidify your skills, while our teacher remains available for guidance. Class and practice are in the main space, while the bar lounge is open 7pm-12am if you want to arrive early or leave late -- or just need a break. Always BYO practice items, where relevant, though we will always have a selection on hand.

Our teacher: Lady Euphoria Sol is a Transformational Lifestyle & Professional Dominatrix, BDSM Educator, Coach and Ritualist. Her work centers inner exploration, shadow work and energetics in pursuit of Euphoria. She is most recently known for her role as former founding headmistress and curator of 7 Days of Domination, a quarterly week-long series of educational kink talks from worldwide BDSM experts.

Bedroom Badass is our series of workshops to take couples and individuals through various steps in opening up their relationships, or in exploring more adventurous sexual experiences. Whether you're a total novice or an old pro, each class has a range of information relevant to all experience levels.

Special live music guest: Arch Angel. Arch Angel has been a NYC goth scene DJ, artist and promoter for over a decade, and is also the the founder of City of Dark Angels events. Having worked with artists including PRAYERS, BootBlacks, Kontravoid, Mechanical Vein, Matt Hart and more, he is now coming out with his own exclusive dark dance tracks and mixes, combining Dark Pop, Darkwave, Goth and Industrial into a body-moving Dark Freestyle electro genre.

Light kink play welcome, but please note there is no dedicated dungeon setup or dedicated monitors. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.
