A busy week for us, with BB class tomorrow, DDD goth dance party Friday, and the annual Brooklyn Mardi Gras with our G&S family on Saturday. We hope to see you at all of these, but especially:

We seem to have stirred something deep with our foundational communication class earlier this month, and it's inspiring us to craft *an entirely new education program* for 2025 with Lady Euphoria. With our inclusivity and focus on consent, HoS tends to attract many folks for whom this lifestyle is new and sometimes overwhelming or mystifying. We want to focus on essential, ground-level, foundational skills that are hard to encounter in the more advanced play spaces -- but where this knowledge is considered a prerequisite to participation. (We will still host more advanced play classes, of course, and we welcome direct requests for workshops you might want to see here.) Tomorrow's class is a test of sorts to see whether this approach and the larger education program is something HoS folks want to see us commit to this year. We hope to see you there.

- Wed 2.26 - Bedroom Badass ($0-30) - Practical Negotiation for Play turns basic communication skills we covered in the last class into the building blocks it takes to successfully negotiate relationship or scene parameters with your dating or scene partners. Let's turn theory into practice together! Don't worry if you missed the first class; we're going to start with a quick basics breakdown before moving into new territory.

- Fri 2.28 - Dark DecaDance ($0-20, open to non-members) - Let's get goth, people! DDD has been a monthly highlight for us, growing its own community over this past year, and we love welcoming new people into the fold. Forget the pink and red...tonight we wear BLACK.

- Bonus from G&S! Sat 3.1 - Brooklyn Mardi Gras ($25-50) - ever seen 50 brass musicians crammed into one room, jamming out together as everyone dances around them? Don't forget to pick up your LS guest passes for the year!

- Fri 3.14 - Lip Service: pansexual makeout party ($0-25, members only) - the cozy, cute & wholesome kissing party. Wear your sexy best and lock lips with your play partner(s) or other guests at the one event where making out all night is not just acceptable, but encouraged! Reminder: LS is the ONLY event where you can get vetted in person for Countdown and any other play events; otherwise you have to follow the steps outlined on the HoS site.

- Wed 3.19 - Sinema Club: exploring gender & sexuality on screen ($0-10, members only) - this month: Birder (2024) erotic thriller set in a nudist campground and She's Clean (2022), a short with a simple premise: a protagonist who showers with all her dates to explore the balance of intimacy and desire. - Sat 3.22 - Countdown: pansexual play party ($0-50, members only) - take all that pent-up Lip Service energy and release it at Countdown, now back on a monthly schedule every fourth Sat. Yes, approval is required -- please don't wait till last minute! And remember that you can get approved in person at Lip Service, as well.

You may know the theories of consent and communication (especially if you attended the last class!), but how do you convert them into a practice that allows you to have all the fun you and your partners may want to have together? In this crash course, we'll talk about the key components to a negotiation practice, and start building a hands-on structure for all your future play.

Missed the communication workshop? Don't worry! We'll retouch on negotiation parameters and the basics from the last class. This workshop is great for anyone ready to get hands-on practice with negotiating and enhance both their connection and communication skills.

Some topics to be covered:
- What makes a negotiation practice
- Clarity & why it's important for your foundation
- Curiosity and co-visioning as an approach to negotiation
- Practical tools for negotiating with different communication styles
- Negotiation differences for before, during and after play
- Considerations for partnered vs. group negotiations, pick-up play, long term partner, etc

All BB classes are a mixture of lecture, hands-on experience, and dedicated Q&A time. After class, stay for dedicated practice & play time to help you solidify your skills, while our teacher remains available for guidance. Class and practice are in the main space, while the bar lounge is open 7pm-12am if you want to arrive early or leave late -- or just need a break. Always BYO practice items, where relevant, though we will always have a selection on hand.

Our teacher: Lady Euphoria Sol is a Transformational Lifestyle & Professional Dominatrix, BDSM Educator, Coach and Ritualist. Her work centers inner exploration, shadow work and energetics in pursuit of Euphoria. She is most recently known for her role as former founding headmistress and curator of 7 Days of Domination, a quarterly week-long series of educational kink talks from worldwide BDSM experts.

Bedroom Badass is our series of workshops to take couples and individuals through various steps in opening up their relationships, or in exploring more adventurous sexual experiences. Whether you're a total novice or an old pro, each class has a range of information relevant to all experience levels.

*Bedroom Badass happens on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month

Whatever your membership level, you are invited to use our space as your own for the night...as your clubhouse. While the ticketed activities will take place on the stage side of the room, the bar and lounge will remain open 7pm-11pm (12am if enough people are lounging). Just like with regular events, if you're Friend level and above, you can bring up to two friends with you. Order in dinner, have a few drinks, run a friendly board game, or just read a book on the comfy couch. This is not a mixer -- just us opening our doors for our members. It's up to you how much you socialize, if at all, and with whom.

DDD is a queer-forward kink-friendly goth dance celebration, inviting all participants to let go, dance and play in our luscious private loft. We embrace all genders and sexualities and levels of darkness.
 
On decks: resident DJ Shiver has been bringing the best of darkwave, goth, industrial, and post-punk sounds since 2015. Having spun at Femme Fest LA, Defcon NYC, and co-founding clubs Dolce Vita and Physical Ruins, she continues to blend both beloved classics and the best of new dark music. She also runs Wire Trap music magazine featuring the best new darkwave and post-punk music and events.

Guest DJ: Newark, NJ native DJ Luna is a force to be reckoned with: he is QXT's resident DJ with 20+ years DJing experience. Cultivating the soundtrack for the evening, inspiring the dance floor to stay in perpetual motion, seamlessly blending genres and varying styles...Luna's set lists are always unique, dark, electronic and stimulating.

Light kink play welcome, but please note there is no dedicated dungeon setup or dedicated monitors. Consent and polite party behavior strictly enforced.

We get asked all the time how people can join HoS if they are shy, don't have like-minded friends, lack PALs for play parties, have no idea how this whole thing works, don't feel like jumping into sexy activity but want to connect to open-minded humans, etc. This party is the answer!

Calling all LGBTQIA+, poly, kink, swinger and other "alternative" dating/sex/gender-aligned humans and their allies. We're creating a protected and judgment-free space for connections, conversations, community, games and interactivity. This is the key HoS event open to non-members. Come meet us before you join!

For those of you new to it all: direct introductions to HoS members new and old; facilitated discussions on poly, kink and swinger lifestyles; icebreaker games to welcome you to our club.
