As Pride month heats up, we are continuing our desperately-needed member drive. It's been a year of heavy build-out in a dwindling leisure economy, and our bank account shows it. - Wed 6.12 - Bedroom Badass w Fox ($0-30, members only) + HoS Clubhouse (FREE or $5 to join as member) - Topic: How to turn awkward into sexy. You know you've all been there: a toy you need is across the room...you have a sudden itch...you just don't know what to say next. This class will help you figure out how to turn the most potentially awkward moments into a part of your scene. - Fri 6.14 - Lip Service ($0-25, members only) - pansexual makeout party - the saucy & sassy R-rated event you know and love. Pride should make this an extra good one. Did all members remember to pick up their special LS passes for the year? You can do so at the door of any HoS event.

- Wed 6.19 - Sinema Club ($0-10, members only) - our film club exploring gender, orientation and sexuality on the big screen. Since it's Pride *and* Juneteenth, we're focusing on queer black filmmakers. Main feature: The Watermelon Woman. HoS Clubhouse: Miss Scorpio will be behind the bar, and our overflowing party & festival-wear racks will be set up for browsing.

- Fri 6.21 - FemFlirt - ($0-25, open to non-members) - we're not doing the flirting class for this one, but the social, flirting & make-out party is very much on. Free drink with each over-$15 ticket!

- Wed 6.26 - Bedroom Badass w Lady Euphoria Sol ($0-30, members only) + HoS Clubhouse (FREE or $5 to join as member) - Topic: Playing with Energy & Intention in Kink. Roleplay and tools are fun...but a deeper approach can take play to an entirely different level. - Fri 6.28 - Dark DecaDance ($0-15, open to non-members) - queer-forward goth party. This month features a special short set by queer musician Max Fractal (FKA Kim Boekbinder). For Dark Decadence, Max Fractal will bring deep beats for dark places.

- Sat 6.29 - Renegade Pride! This year's blowout features a special short set by queer musician Max Fractal (FKA Kim Boekbinder). For Renegade Pride, Max Fractal will illuminate the night with the bright sounds of queer utopian futures.

While classes & movie nights take place in the main space, the bar and lounge remain open 7pm-11pm (12am if enough people are lounging). Just like with regular events, if you're Friend level and above, you can bring up to two friends with you. Order in dinner, have a few drinks, run a friendly board game, or just read a book on the comfy couch. This is not a mixer -- just us opening our doors for our members. Have you ever run into an unavoidable awkward pause when playing with someone? Maybe it's because of a loss for words, or you have to remember how to tie a knot, or to retrieve an item from across the room. In this class we will cover how to maintain connection through interruptions, and work these external moments into the scene to keep sexy vibes flowing.

Some topics to be covered:
- How to use check-ins without breaking character
- How to have mid-scene negotiations in a safe and sexy way
- Creative ways to keep the scene going when you have to walk away
- Using breath, eye contact and touch to keep flow going in a pause
- Cultivating excitement in a scene direction shift

All BB classes are a mixture of lecture, hands-on experience, and dedicated Q&A time. After class, stay for dedicated practice & play time to help you solidify your skills, while our teacher remains available for guidance. Class and practice are in the main space, while the bar lounge is open 7pm-11pm if you want to arrive early or leave late -- or just need a break. Always BYO practice items, where relevant, though we will always have a selection on hand.

Our teacher: Mx Fox is a femme domme, kink educator and relationship & intimacy coach who has been in the scene since 2016. Fox loves to work with folks of all levels to help them feel excited to express themselves shamelessly, and of course to have hotter, safer and sexier relationships.

Bedroom Badass is our series of workshops to take couples and individuals through various steps in opening up their relationships, or in exploring more adventurous sexual experiences. Whether you're a total novice or an old pro, each class has a range of information relevant to all experience levels.

The body's largest sex organ is the brain. Sinema Club stimulates yours with films that are explicitly erotic, homo-romantic, or gender-exploring -- and always thought-provoking. A rousing discussion follows; drinking is encouraged throughout, and mingling happens before, during and after: the bar remains open for socializing, while the film plays in the main space. Plus: free popcorn from our vintage cart. Order dinner in, and make it dinner and a movie.

This months screening: with this month's club falling on Juneteenth, we're focusing on queer black filmmakers. The main feature is the seminal lesbian romance movie The Watermelon Woman (1996).

The wry, incisive debut feature by Cheryl Dunye gave cinema something bracingly new and groundbreaking: a vibrant representation of Black lesbian identity by a Black lesbian filmmaker. Dunye stars as Cheryl, a video-store clerk and aspiring director whose interest in forgotten Black actresses leads her to investigate an obscure 1930s performer known as the Watermelon Woman, whose story proves to have surprising resonances with Cheryl’s own life as she navigates a new relationship with a white girlfriend (Guinevere Turner). Balancing breezy romantic comedy with a serious inquiry into the history of Black and queer women in Hollywood, The Watermelon Woman slyly rewrites long-standing constructions of race and sexuality on-screen, introducing an important voice in American cinema.

We're working on a special secondary feature and lining up panel guests -- this should be a really good one!

Sinema Club is curated and hosted by Phil Guie-Ng (@thatphilguymovies): an inquisitive, ardent longtime film critic who is dying to tell you about movies you haven't heard of yet. As a reviewer at the website Film-Forward, his self-appointed mission was covering documentaries and features about subjects who challenged conventional attitudes about gender, masculinity, and more. When Phil isn't writing about movies, you can find him in Brooklyn taking part in protests on behalf of basic human rights.

It's been a common refrain that it's harder for women to flirt with each other, as they frequently can't tell how much flirting may be ok, who's straight and who's open, and whether a connection they may be feeling is a friendly one or one with potential chemistry to explore. And, when cis & hetero presenting, they are sometimes made to feel too straight for gay spaces, and invisible or too queer in mixed environments. The same frequently holds for GNC/NB folks, too.

This event is a small step towards diminishing pan, queer and gay femme/NB invisibility, enabling and encouraging those folks to connect romantically and physically to others like them, wherever they fall on the gender presentation spectrum. We hope to be a place of empowerment and support for your exploration, even if you're just starting out or are unsure about your orientation. Explore and push your boundaries in a safe space, while enjoying our lush intimate Loft and delicious cocktails.

We will start the event with social games and introductions to make everyone feel welcome. As the night progresses, we go from mixer to makeouts, with Spin The Bottle and other sexier games.

Dress code: dress in whatever makes you feel sexy, however feminine or masculine you feel. We won't enforce the dress code as strictly as at Lip Service, but we respectfully ask for no casual attire. You're coming to flirt!

Who can attend: self-identifying women and GNC/NB humans who want to connect with other women and GNC/NB humans. While HoS events are usually more pan-gendered and pan-sexual, we're going to keep this one as a safe space without cis men. Important: HoS is a TERF-free zone!
